North Korea - No trees baby!

Anjong,

at the last day in Seoul me and my family visited the South / North Korean border. I thought it would be a thrilling ride to one of the "hot-spots" in the Korean Republic..... But in the end it was kind of stressful....

We had to get up at six o'clock in the morning to get the bus which took us to the tourist attractions in the DMZ (DeMilitarizedZone).

Here on the purple bus!
First stop.... the freedom bridge... this track is going to North Korea...
And the cute puppet, representing north korean female soldiers... they have to serve military for 7 years!

AAAAAAnd stop!
Soldier protecting the DMZ!

Everywhere beside the streets are these warning signs... because of landmines...
After entering the DMZ we visited a tunnel the north koreans built to infiltrate Seoul.... they were detected many miles away from seoul. But still... the tunnel was would have been able to send 30.000 soldiers per hour to Seoul... TIll today there are 4 tunnel detected and nobody knows how many more there are...
Here from this platform we were able to watch North-korea! There is a border, 4km broad. 2km DMZ in South- and 2km DMZ in North Korea. In this area there are just 2 villages. One North and one South Korean village. Once there was a battle who has the higher flag.... in the end the South Koreans thought, that it is too stupid to battle about something so stupid.... so the North-koreans won with a 160m high flag...
And there you see Northkorea.,... not very special in the end...the only thing you might notice, is the fact, that there are not so many trees, because they need them to make fire.... because they have no heatings...

And there is my favorite souvenir. MY Marvel heroes chewing gums... every gum is covered by a new hero! And every hero is on a sticker, and the hero itself is a tattoo.... so incredible cool!

This station is ready to use, but there is no good relationship nowadays between the two Koreas... so it is not used....

That was our trip to the border... In the end not very special, but I saw parts of North Korea!
